The QStar SntryStr™ Archive Appliance provides an unmatched quality of service not found in other storage solutions, seamlessly integrating with business essential applications, such as email archive, video editing or storage, or even highly regulated applications such as medical imaging RIS/PACS.
SntryStr™ is designed to be fully integrated in a tiered storage system and supports a host of archive storage devices including low-cost serial ATA RAID disk, CAS devices, and write-once based storage libraries. It offers an on-line data cache, where data is stored on hard disk for instant retrieval and later migrated onto archive media for compliance and protection. Based on user-definable policies, data can reside in the on-line cache or deep in the archive and be available to any user on the network at any time.
The QStar integrated appliance approach strengthens the management capabilities of a tiered storage solution. SntryStr™ archive appliance combined with QStar MultiStor provides the ideal platform for an integrated tiered storage solution from a single vendor. By migrating data from primary to secondary storage, automatically within the QStar architecture, it can reduce the administrative costs and network complexity. Email Capture and Archive Appliance
Without question, email is the most widely used Internet application in the world. As a result, most organizations are unable to function without it. Given this dependence, corporate best practices dictate the need to retain and safeguard email archives. SntryML™ is designed to meet these needs and easily maintain email archives.
SntryML™ automatically captures, indexes, and archives email messages from the email server and is capable of managing up to 250,000 messages per hour. Once captured, it enables users to search the archive for their messages when necessary without the emails having to reside on the email server. It minimizes the need for mailbox management, and is designed to meet compliance, e-discovery, and knowledge sharing business needs. SntryML is designed to let users access and integrate email archive data and extract information to make informed business decisions.
Two Tiered Storage Management
SntryML™ uses a two tiered storage management structure designed to manage content using automated, policy-controlled archiving to on-line storage devices for active management retention and then automatically migrating data to near-line storage devices providing seamless retrieval of information. The near-line storage is completely device independent and can be virtually any form of disk, optical or tape including WORM technology depending on retention needs.

In medical imaging, picture archiving and communication systems (PACS) are computers or networks dedicated to the storage, retrieval, distribution and presentation of images. The medical images are stored in an independent format. The most common format for image storage is DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine).
QStar is changing the way imaging centers function with a PACS appliance solution that seamlessly integrates all modalities within the radiology department. SntryPACS™ is a fully integrated PACS/DICOM server, router diagnostic viewer and storage appliance designed for receiving images directly from any DICOM modality.
With SntryPACS™, the actual capture process for any radiology instrument doesn't change. Digital images from all the modalities are captured and directly pushed into the integrated SntryPACS™ DICOM server; in addition, non-DICOM images can also be stored on the archive. SntryPACS™ has an independent work list module of its own, but can also plug into an existing hospital information system.
The SntryPACS™ product line enables imaging centers and clinics to efficiently meet the patient record retention requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) by using automated, rule-based, secure routing of DICOM industry-standard images, and advanced replication features.
